I posted a question the other day on the Recovery forum about Abby’s aloofness since her surgery. (Thanks, by the way, to everyone who offered suggestions and support.) I’m pretty convinced it’s a side effect of feeling funky on the Tramadol, but plan to talk to the vet about it when we go see him today to have her drain taken out (hoorah! That thing is just icky. I realize it’s there for a good reason – but it’s still icky and it bugs her.)
Thought I’d post some pics of Abby channeling Greta Garbo in “Grand Hotel”.
Poor Abby!
I’m sorry you’ve had to turn to the fern as you only friend! But that’s what goofy medicines do!

Maybe mommy can cut back on the tramadol to see if you are in pain. We hate that tramadol! I can’t even walk when I get some! And I’m Comet Space Cadet (get it!) on it.
Take care Abby!
Cool Cat Comet
we agree with comet, the pain pills make you dopey… probably the tile is cool, and she likes the feel of that… this too will pass, especially when that drain is out…. paws crossed for a more ‘sociable abby’ soon!

Aw Abby. There you are with your life preserver AND wearing some pretty snazzy swim wear.
Tramadol did do wicked weird things to Catie as well. I could tell right away when that medication had kicked in. She’d gofrom being responsive and alert to lethargic and very befuddled. Stunned, really.
Good luck at the vet’s.
Sorry to be a bit late in welcoming you to Tripawds.
Abby is a real cute pup, and I am wishing you all a speedy recovery.
Yea that Tramadol can really mess with their heads. I remember that JD was very standoffish as well and just plain out of it, very wierd. I weaned her off as soon as I could.
Hope all went well at the vet, and am looking forward to your updates.
